She was conceived on the 29th of March, 1985 in Roswell near New Mexico. Gerina Michelle was her maiden name. Gerina Stevenson was born to Mexican parents Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. She is Mexican origins, however she is American as a national. Her passion for sports started as a young kid. Gerina started playing golf at the age of 15. Gerina was a graduate of Goddard High School. When she was in high school, she won at the New Mexico state golf tournament. The volleyball abilities of her were recognized at the national level. She began attending the University of Texas. In her final year, she was the winner of every competition she entered. During her college career she was awarded the Conference USA Player of The Year award and The UTEP Female Sport Athlete Award.
