Katherine Heigl is open about her childhood living in "a the white bubble." She also explains how that realization has affected the parenting style of her adoptees who are multi-racial. In an interview with her, Katherine Heigl said in the past that in terms of skin colour the issue isn't that important. However, after talking to her adopted sister from South Korea she realized just how differently society treats them. "I inquired of my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd been treated in one manner while walking around with our parents, and another way when she went out by herself without them. Meg said, 'Oh Sure, I've witnessed everything!' Heigl admitted to her parents that she realized how foolish she was. The actress said that she was angry but felt she needed to channel her anger to aid the adopted children she has. Heigl shares a son of four year with Josh Kelley, her husband over the last 13 years. In 2009, the couple adopted Nancy Leigh (12), an adopted daughter from South Korea, and Adalaide (8, a black child) in 2012.
